nlName a public bargain/discount store that hasn't done well in public markets. $ROST $TJX $FIVE $DG $DLTR all come to mind as winners. $GO (Grocery Outlet) seems interesting, growth narrative easy to believe.
Ok, let me get this straight. Last quarter they disappoint and the run to all time high. They beat today and run to all time high again.Nothing priced in?? How do I go on investing. Oh, I forgot they are buying all their stock back and looks like with the reduced shares they are beating. How does that make sense. Do you remember FTUS or ARO.. I do......

How can you have bad earnings and be at 52 week high is beyond my comprehension.

It's now August. No mention of that pay raise (to $10/hr) for the worker's in the trenches. I'm guessing Ross has changed its definition of who is a "qualified employee". Look for Ross to make its quarterly earnings estimate due to the lid on workers' pay. Also, keep an eye on the insiders who will be selling after the earnings release.

Do you think this RSI of 49.97 is showing us a buy signal now on ROST? I mean it isn't the end all be all of indicators nonetheless its definitely a great guide stick from my experience. I think it is time for me to respond to this - let me check this out with lionStacka_lerts - they've helped me in the past also.

Why the sudden lift at the close?

So Ross issued a press release announcing they opened 31 new stores. Wonder why they don't issue press releases when insiders sell over $10 million in stock??? Also, no releases on the pay hike to $10/hr, even though we're down to the last 2 weeks in the 2nd quarter. That was the target, wasn't it? Is there a delay in the wage hike so that the earnings release in August will look better?

TJX was down $4.80 yesterday. I recommend you listen to their conference call. EPS were up 5%, despite headwinds from wage increases of 3%. They mentioned the wage increase issue several times. TJX made more money despite the wage increases. I wonder if Ross will address the wage increase issue promised for the 2nd Qtr, or sweep it under the rug. Got to meet the analysts' expected EPS for the 2nd Qtr.
