    Good day for buying.
Luxury consumers shopped online more than ever in the past year, forced by coronavirus-related restrictions to stay away from city-center stores and airport duty-free concessions.
e-commerce sales have skyrocketed, with many if not most brands reporting increases in online revenue.
Online sales at Gucci's parent company Kering, for example, more than doubled in the third quarter, the last period it reported on. They rose by two-thirds at German premium-apparel company Hugo Boss AG in the same period, and increased by triple figures at Swiss group Cie. Financière Richemont SA in the second half of its fiscal year. As a whole, online luxury sales almost doubled in 2020 to account for 23% of the market, Bain & Company said in a recent report with Italian trade association Altagamma.
Online channels will account for a third of total luxury sales by 2025, from 12% in 2019.
"The pandemic has fast-forwarded changes that were already happening in the online world," said Francesca DiPasquantonio, Deutsche Bank's head of global luxury research. "Companies that were already better positioned and had invested [in the online channel] since a long way back, they've found themselves in the best place to benefit from this shift. Companies that have neglected this channel find it hard to catch up," she said.
The global luxury goods market is expected to grow with a CAGR of 10% from 2019 to 2024.

$JWN is a nearly perfect PE takeover target or family buyback/buyout at these levels. So many great opportunities to restructure away from the scrutiny of public markets. Very strong revenues, defensible market positions, solid e-commerce platform, diversity of business lines, excellent brand equity. Trades at 1/10th of $LULU and should be trading at a comparable multiple. Shorts are going to get annihilated.

JWN had more stores stay closed for longer, because so many are in California. I’m guessing that created a lag with the stock price. Will $JWN catchup to $DDS?

Every day that $JWN goes lower means I get to buy more. As long as this company doesn’t go bankrupt (it shouldn’t, all things considered) I see tons of growth.

My question from Twitter Land I'll post here, too:

    $JWN (Nordstom's) 52-week low during lock down of $12.24...Today hit $12.74 again.

    $DDS (Dillard's) low of $21.5 and is now $31.5

    $M (Macy's) low of $4.38 & is now $6.35

    $TJX (Tj Max) $32.72 low & now $53.88

    $ROST (Ross) $56.3 low & now $90.62

    What retail is on sale?

$M beat expectations. What does that mean for $JWN? Nordstrom will be a surprise. Macy’s has way too many stores and not as much of an online presence.

Both $LB and $JWN posted this quarter surprise earnings. JWN is today 20% up. This is a great sign for NAKD to hit the bew highs and especially add to that the yet to come shopping season. Buy these dips you won’t get disappointed

$WMT sees 97% growth in e-commerce sales — sign of things to come with $JWN. Early and sustained investments in this channel is a key differentiator that will help carry the equity to new highs. Bye bye 👋🏻 shorts!

Time to move away from $TSLA and go to $JWN. Tesla short interest is about to skyrocket while Nordstrom short interest is dropping.

Over reaction due to Corona Virus fear. Company is doing good, Dividend is good.Hopefully should be ok in long run. $M has way better P/E than competition. On management now how fast it handles loss making store closings and then turns it around. I am long. Similar stocks $JWN, $DDS,$ KSS etc.in the same retail category are down.

In recent decades, department stores have essentially morphed into apparel stores, as they shuttered or shrunk departments like electronics or home goods (among others) and filled those spaces with apparel. Yet shoppers have pulled back on their discretionary spending on apparel as casual wear has become more acceptable in the workplace, and at events like religious services and life milestones like weddings. Plus, when they do spend on apparel, they tend to favor low prices, and frequent discounters like mass merchants or off-price stores. Deloitte: In 1987, the average consumer allocated 5.9% of their spending to apparel and services, but by 2017, that had plummeted to 3.1%. $M $JWN $JCP $KSS. lol
