I'd like to add that with Geely sharing (taking/accepting?) technology from Volvo, they're the only domestic brand that will have foreign build quality and design. Geely will be poised to be the only domestic brand able to export their cars abroad. This is something that the Chinese govt has wanted for some time. Btw, without government approval could the Volvo deal be approved? Also, isn't it strange how Geely became a HSI constituent so quickly? I live in China and can see how many of their cars are on the road now. Will check on a few dealerships and

All of this smacks a little of desperation. Investors rate Geely well above Daimler, with a forward price-earnings ratio of 15.3 that's almost double the German company's 7.8. What's so special about the Mercedes-Benz maker that's worth Geely's boss Li Shufu spending $4.5 billion or so on its stock?
